Things that stay in your browser
Your checklist ticks, the region you picked and your light or dark choice are saved in your own browser. They are never sent to us. See our cookies page.
Your tenants' information
Safety certificates often show your tenants' names. If you upload them, we process that information only to check your documents. As their landlord you are also responsible for telling your tenants how you use their information.
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We use these companies to run the service, under contracts that limit what they can do with it:
- Cloudflare: website hosting, our database and anonymous visitor statistics
- Resend: sending our emails
- Stripe: taking payments
- Our accountants and professional advisers, when needed
We only pass your details to a tradesperson, such as a gas engineer, if you ask us to.
International transfers
Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations (including the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified) or on the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Reminder sign-ups you don't confirm: deleted after 30 days
- Reminder sign-ups: until you unsubscribe. We then keep your email address and the date you unsubscribed, only so we never email you again
- Messages you send us: 2 years
- Uploaded certificates: until you close your account, then deleted within 30 days
- Invoices and payment records: 6 years, as the law requires
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to another organisation. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email. Email hello@registeryourrentalproperty.co.uk and we will reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

If we change this notice we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we will email you first.
